Marcus Rashford playing for Aston Villa
Marcus Rashford still receives regular support from Manchester United players on social media
Almost a dozen Manchester United players made their support for Marcus Rashford known on social media after the player's first two goals for Aston Villa.
Rashford helped Villa beat Championship club Preston North End and progress to the FA Cup semi-finals. Playing as a central striker, he scored their opening goal with a first-time finish, while the second was from the penalty spot.
Those were the player's first goals since last scoring - twice - for United against Everton at Old Trafford in December, Ruben Amorim's third match in charge. Rashford now has six goal contributions in his ten appearances for Villa after assisting his team-mates four times.
"I am buzzing to finally get my first Villa goals and help the team progress to the semi-finals," Rashford captioned an Instagram post, punctuating it with a red heart emoji.
"Happy Mother's Day (rose emoji) & Eid Mubarak to everybody around the world celebrating (smiling face with open hands emoji) (raising hands emoji)."
Alejandro Garnacho commented on the post with two emojis. Combined, they depict the player's celebration where he points to his temple in the same way as Rashford has previously done.
Several other United players interacted with the post by liking it, including Amad, Antony, Christian Eriksen, Diogo Dalot, Ethan Wheatley, Godwill Kukonki, Joe Hugill, Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez.
His former team-mates Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams, Facundo Pellistri, Shola Shoretire and Sofyan Amrabat, plus ex-players Gary Neville and Patrice Evra, also did.
Many Villa players commented on the post, including Amadou Onana, Emi Martinez, Ian Maatsen, Marco Asensio, Morgan Rogers, Matty Cash and Youri Tielemans.
Jacob Ramsey also spoke highly of Rashford afterwards. The midfielder dubbed his team-mate a "top, top, top player" who he enjoys playing alongside and acknowledged being happy the forward had scored two goals.
