The New Orleans Pelicans have decided to extend Elfrid Payton’s time with the team, agreeing to a second 10-day contract, per Michael Scotto.
The 31-year-old point guard has shown his playmaking ability during his recent stint with the Pelicans.
Especially after his impressive performance against the Philadelphia 76ers, where he recorded 14 assists, followed by a solid 10-assist game against the Golden State Warriors.
This season, Payton has been averaging 3.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. He’s also had a brief run with the Charlotte Hornets earlier this season.
Over his career, the guard has played for multiple NBA teams, including the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks.
