Bournemouth want£45 million for Milos Kerkez, Chelsea and Liverpool interested

AFC Bournemouth will demand £45 million for left-back Milos Kerkez this summer, according to The Times.

The Hungarian defender is attracting interest from Chelsea and Liverpool. The duo are in the market for left-back reinforcement this summer and could make a play for his signature.

Bournemouth paid around £15 million to sign Kerkez from AZ Alkmaar, a move led by then technical director and now Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes.

Hughes wants to bring Kerkez to Merseyside as a long-term successor to Andrew Robertson. Kostas Tsimikas could also leave the club this summer, leaving a gaping hole in the rearguard. The 21-year-old will be perfect to plug it.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have Marc Cucurella as their only out-and-out left-back and need someone to provide competition for the Spaniard. Kerkez is on their radar.

The former AC Milan star has enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Cherries, establishing himself as one to watch out for.

Kerkez has devastating straight-line speed and a wicked cross for wreaking havoc in the opposition’s defence. He also uses his quickness as his primary defensive weapon.

Kerkez has recorded two goals and five assists in 29 Premier League appearances this term while keeping six clean sheets and winning 51% of his duels.

Kerkez should choose Liverpool over Chelsea – View

Liverpool is the ideal destination for Kerkez this summer. While both clubs are interested, the Reds offer a clearer pathway to regular minutes and a more stable environment for his development.

Despite their pursuit of left-back depth, Chelsea are a chaotic project under constant rebuilding. Cucurella has emerged as a key player, meaning Kerkez would face an uphill battle for minutes in an unpredictable set-up.

Stamford Bridge has been a revolving door of signings, often leaving young talents struggling for consistency.

On the other hand, Liverpool need a left-back immediately. With Robertson entering the latter stages of his career and Tsimikas likely leaving, Kerkez would have a genuine opportunity to become the long-term solution.

Also, the presence of Hughes, who was instrumental in bringing him to Bournemouth, ensures there is a familiar face that trusts in his abilities.

Anfield is undoubtedly the wiser choice. If Kerkez wants to thrive at the highest level and develop into an elite left-back, the decision is simple – Liverpool over Chelsea.
