Pedri has been described as the [“best in the world”](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/12/24383502/hansi-flick-hails-brilliant-lamine-yamal-and-best-in-the-world-pedri-after-barcelona-beat-benfica) in his position this season by his manager but the Spain star has also revealed where he needs to improve.

> “It’s great to be recognized that you’re doing well, but I try to focus on improving. I’m only 22 years old and I have room to improve,” he told Catalunya Radio

>

> “In fact, the coach also tells me that in training. What could I improve? Many things... You can always lose fewer balls, you can always improve your goal tally, choose better when it’s time to speed up or calm down the game... Everything can be improved.”

Pedri also revealed he’s not getting carried away with the recent praise for his performances as he’s well aware that things can changes quickly in football.

> “I’ve experienced all the situations. At first it was all praise, then the criticism came and now the praise has returned. I’ve experienced both sides of the coin,” he added.

>

> “They said I was made of glass, that hurt me a lot.... When you get criticized so much, you want to give more of yourself and shut those mouths that talk about you like that.

>

> “And beyond shutting those mouths, what you want to do is enjoy yourself. And now I’m doing it, which I haven’t done for a long time.”

As great as he’s been this season, it’s easy to forget that Pedri is still only 22 and likely to get even better as he matures at Barcelona.
