The 53-year-old Italian chose to leave Atletico after 12 years with the side. He has been praised for his role during his time in Madrid. The Italian holds a strong name in the world of football. His work at the Spanish club has been great.

He initially joined Atletico as a technical director in 2013. Andrea also made some big signings while he was in Madrid. He was responsible for some important transfers. Antoine Griezmann, Rodri and Julian Alvarez were the signings to name a few.

Jason Ayto to be Berta’s assistant

The Gunners have also named Jason Ayto as the sporting director’s assistant. Ayto filled the position on a temporary basis when Edu left. They will be looking to sign some players in the summer transfer window.

After injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, the side have struggled to have a balanced attacking line-up. The duo miss the rest of the season. Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko are top of their striker list.

The north London side is also trying to extend Bukayo Saka and William Saliba’s stay. Both of them have a deal until 2027. They are looking to keep these stars for more years. The club will try to keep their squad stacked with good talents.

Martin Zubimendi is also on their target list during the window. The Real Sociedad player has been linked with many top teams in Europe as well. Thomas Partey and Jorginho have contracts until the end of this campaign only. Arsenal will try to fill these gaps if Partey or Jorginho leave the Emirates.
