The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't had any official top 30 visits ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they've done due diligence on several prospects the past few months. One of the latest was cornerback Korie Black, who had a formal meeting with the Jacksonville brass at the Oklahoma State Pro Day.
Aaron Wilson of KPCR2 reports that the Jags were one of many teams that formally talked to Black at his Pro Day. The New England Patriots, the Baltimore Ravens, the Indianapolis Colts, the Baltimore Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Giants were the others.
The New Orleans Saints had previously hosted Black for a private workout, but all the meetings he had at the Oklahoma Pro Day show that they're far from the only team interested in investing a draft pick on him.
At 6'0" and 190 pounds, Black has the ideal size to play cornerback in the NFL. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds and posted a vertical of 39 inches and 15 reps on bench press. The former Oklahoma Cowboy showed in 2024 that he can play at a high level, tallying three interceptions and nine pass deflections. The consensus sees him as a Day 3 pick, but he certainly has the tools to potentially become a depth piece in the pros.
Aside from Black, Jacksonville had previously met with Louisville cornerback Corey Thornton, showcasing their intentions to bolster the depth at the position.

Korie Black would give the Jaguars depth at cornerback
Cornerback is no longer a pressing need for the Jaguars after signing Jourdan Lewis in free agency. Having said that, they should still use a couple of picks at the position. They could draft a cornerback as early as Round 1 (Travis Hunter, Will Johnson) or wait until Day 2 to take one. The team's brass could then double dip and choose another on Day 3. They have extra selections in Rounds 4 and 6, so they could most definitely afford to take a corner at that point of the draft.
In Jacksonville, Black would give their cornerback unit much-needed depth. While Lewis rounds out a starting trio that includes Jarrian Jones and Tyson Campbell, they need to raise the floor of the bottom half of the depth chart. Montaric Brown was the primary backup last season, and he wasn't particularly consistent. Sophomore DeAntre Prince is also in the mix but didn't do much of note in his rookie season.
Black could come in and compete for a roster spot, and if he flashes in the offseason, maybe even for playing time on special teams or as CB5.
Either way, the Jaguars meeting with Korie Black at Oklahoma State shows that they're considering adding depth at cornerback, even if they ultimately don't use a draft pick on him.
