Everton are ready to pounce for a key figure at Arsenal in a bid to improve the club behind the scenes.
It has been a hit-and-miss season for the Toffees on and off the pitch, but David Moyes has managed to turn things around and steady the ship following his sensational return to the Merseyside giants.
Everton have managed to pull away from the threat of relegation, and with a brand new stadium on the horizon, they are now trying to get everything in order for a stronger campaign next time around.

Everton wants to strengthen things behind the scenes
That includes behind-the-scenes, where the Toffees are looking to raid Arsenal for a key member of their staff.
Everton have been alerted to the fact that there’s a potential opportunity to hire Arsenal’s Jason Ayto this summer, according to TBR Football (31 March).

The 40-year-old originally joined the Gunners as a scout in 2014 and has climbed up the ranks to the point where he was named Arsenal’s interim sporting director after Edu Gaspar’s departure.
Ayto had been considered for that role permanently, but the Gunners brought in Andrea Berta, which could lead to him moving on this time around.

However, the Premier League giants don’t want to lose Ayto if possible, as Mikel Arteta is a fan of his work.
Everton are interested in giving Ayto a job, though, as they see him as an ideal candidate to replace the outgoing Kevin Thelwell, who leaves the Toffees after this season.

Everton will face competition in trying to hire Ayto
The Toffees might want to hire Ayto at the end of this season, but that doesn’t mean that it is going to be a simple situation.
While Arsenal are hoping to retain his services, Crystal Palace are also said to be interested in hiring him as their sporting director, as Dougie Freedman is leaving to start work in Saudi Arabia.
On top of that, there is also interest from Scottish giants Rangers, as they are set to undergo a takeover of their own as the 49ers want to strengthen their staff.
