Chelsea icon Eden Hazard has sent a message to his former club after recently visiting Uefa headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The Belgian spent a total of seven years playing for Chelsea before leaving for Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. In that time he featured 352 times, scored 110 goals and provided 85 assists for the club.
Hazard won two Premier League titles, two Europa League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup in a Blues shirt. He left Stamford Bridge as a fan favourite and continued to follow the Blues' over the years.
The 34-year-old returned to west London as part of the Rest of the World squad in the Soccer Aid charity match last year. But having recently visited the UEFA headquarters, Hazard reminisced about his time with the Blues and sent a message to his fans.
"Great to visit Uefa HQ last week and see an old friend," he wrote on Instagram.
Chelsea won the Europa League in 2019, beating Arsenal 4-1 in the final. Hazard scored a brace in the game. Reflecting on his time at the club, Hazard previously said: "I spent seven years thereā¦ it was the best memory of my football career. My best season was the second season with Mourinho when we won the Premier League and League Cup.
"The manager was the Special One and it's so hard to explain the feelings after games with the fans all happy."
Hazard has been out of the game since he retired in October 2023, three months after leaving Real Madrid. However, fans could soon see him in action if rumours about him partaking in the first edition of the Baller League are to be believed.
John Terry has hinted he wants to link back up with former Chelsea duo Didier Drogba and Hazard in Baller League UK. "In week one I've got Didier [Drogba] and [Eden] Hazard coming," he said in jest on the Baller League's matchday one live stream when asked what he told Sharky before their game.
"I'm not sure whether they will be up for it, but I'll certainly be asking the question."
