Colin Cowherd Boldly Declares Cooper Flagg is a Better Version of This NBA Superstar

The Duke Blue Devils are headed to the Final Four. Behind Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Tyrese Proctor, the Blue Devils have continued moving forward.

Next up for Duke will be a tough matchup against the fellow No. 1 seed Houston Cougars. That game is scheduled to be played on Saturday evening at 8:49 p.m.

While the Blue Devils are fully focused on their run at a national championship, the media is watching Flagg and preparing for him to make the jump to the NBA. He is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft.

One notable sports analyst, Colin Cowherd, has unveiled a new take about Flagg and what kind of NBA player he could become.

During a segment of Monday's edition of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," Cowherd made a very strong claim about Flagg. He stated that at his age, he is a better player than Jayson Tatum was at the same age.

"He is a better version of Jayson Tatum at this age," Cowherd said.

To this point in his freshman season, Flagg has averaged 18.9 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks. He has shot 48.3% from the floor and knocked down 37.4% of his 3-point attempts.

As for Tatum during his freshman year at Duke, he averaged 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game to go along with a 45.2% overall shooting percentage from the floor and 34.2% from the 3-point line.

Just from a numbers perspective, Cowherd's statement is accurate. Now, Flagg will need to prove that he can develop at the next level the same way Tatum did.
