Liverpool could sell youngster for huge profit

Liverpool boss Arne Slot will hope to see his side take a huge step towards the Premier League title when they face Everton on Wednesday.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by the Toffees in the last Merseyside derby, and Slot will therefore be desperate to see his side avenge that result and move a step closer to winning the Premier League title for just the second time in the club’s history.

At present Slot’s side sit 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, although that lead could be cut to nine points if the Gunners defeat London rivals Fulham on Tuesday night.

This summer is set to be a hugely important one for Liverpool, with the futures of three key players still very much in doubt.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are all set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign, but it appears that the Merseyside club could also allow one of their young stars to leave.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are weighing up whether or not to cash in on teenager Ben Doak this summer.

Doak has played just ten games for Liverpool at senior level

Liverpool pid just £600,000 in compensation to sign Doak as a 16-year-old from Celtic in 2022, but the teenager has since played just ten times for the club at senior level.

The winger has spent the current campaign on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough and has been in fine form for the Yorkshire side, although he hasn’t featured since January due to injury.

It is claimed that both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace had offers for the youngster rejected during the recent January transfer window, while Liverpool’s fierce rivals Everton are set to join the race to land the Scotland international, according to the report.

Liverpool could be tempted into selling the 19-year-old in order to raise funds for their own new signings during the upcoming summer transfer window.
