Kansas National Guard’s Senior Enlisted Leader Visits Military Academy

YEREVAN — The Chief Master Sergeant of the Kansas National Guard, Chris Hargis, visited the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

As part of his visit, Sergeant Hargis delivered a lecture during the brigade sergeants’ training program, focusing on the role of non-commissioned officers within various branches of the armed forces. He emphasized the importance of professional responsibility in leadership and the need for effective communication between sergeants and commanders.

During the lecture, several key topics were addressed:

Leadership qualities and the importance of leading by personal example

Methods of communication and collaboration with commanding officers

Building trust and discipline within units

Challenges faced by sergeants and potential solutions

At the conclusion of the visit, the guests toured the academy grounds, where they had the opportunity to learn more about the institution’s infrastructure, history, traditions, and accomplishments.
