Premier League GW30 predictions: Liverpool to triumph in Merseyside derby, Man United to lose at Nottingham Forest

Premier League action resumes following the March international break on April 1, with three matches scheduled for Tuesday evening, including Arsenal at home to Fulham and Nottingham Forest welcoming Manchester United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will also host West Ham United on Tuesday, before six matches take place on Wednesday.

The pick of Wednesday's action sees Liverpool welcome Everton for the latest instalment of the Merseyside derby, while the reigning champions Manchester City will welcome struggling Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium.

This week's action concludes on Thursday evening, and it should be a cracking affair at Stamford Bridge, with London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur locking horns.

Another Premier League gameweek means another Sports Mole prediction competition, and this week, we are facing off against Chris Buck from electrifying Welsh-formed rock trio Cardinal Black, who is an Arsenal fan.

Read on to discover Chris' and our predictions for gameweek 30, as well as finding out the results of our head-to-head with Scottish singer-songwriter PG Ciarletta from gameweek 29.

Chris: Arsenal 3-1 Fulham

Sports Mole: Arsenal 1-1 Fulham

Though the Gunners could benefit from being able to call upon Saka, it would be surprising if he was able to make an impact in his first game back from injury.

Fulham's strong track record against Arsenal in recent matchups bodes well for Silva, as does the fact that his side have been excellent away from home, and the Portuguese coach could earn another positive result on Tuesday.

Chris: Wolves 1-2 West Ham

Sports Mole: Wolves 0-1 West Ham

The absence of talisman Cunha could negatively impact Wolves' ability to threaten West Ham, and they may struggle to create chances.

The Hammers have been strong defensively in recent matches, and though they have not found goals easy to come by, their improved form of late should make them favourites on Tuesday.

Chris: Nott'm Forest 2-0 Man Utd

Sports Mole: Nott'm Forest 2-2 Man Utd

This has all of the makings of a wonderful match, and we are expecting goals on Tuesday night; Forest are the favourites on home soil, but Man United will be the fresher of the two teams, which should help to level it up.

It would not be a surprise to see a home or indeed an away victory in this fixture, but we just have a feeling that the points will be shared in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Chris: Brighton 1-1 Aston Villa

Sports Mole: Brighton 1-1 Aston Villa

As both teams are battling for crucial points in the battle for a Champions League finish, this match is likely to be an extremely hard-fought affair.

Although Aston Villa have a strong record against Brighton, the hosts have been solid at home while the visitors have often struggled on the road, leading us to expect a draw.

Chris: Man City 5-0 Leicester

Sports Mole: Man City 2-0 Leicester

Despite their stuttering form at the Etihad in recent times, Manchester City should be supremely confident of easing past the attentions of relegation-threatened Leicester.

The faltering Foxes are aiming to avoid their eighth straight defeat across all competitions, with Wednesday night set to be another sobering occasion for the East Midlands outfit.

Chris: Southampton 0-2 Crystal Palace

Sports Mole: Southampton 1-3 Crystal Palace

In contrast to Southampton, Palace will be full of confidence after winning each of their last five competitive matches, and we think the Eagles will continue to build momentum by claiming a relatively comfortable victory over a side that have lost their previous nine Premier League home games.

Wednesday, 8pm

Chris: Liverpool 2-0 Everton

Sports Mole: Liverpool 2-0 Everton

The international break came at the perfect time for a Liverpool side whose season was threatening to tail off after seeing their hopes for two major honours fall by the wayside, and Slot has since had two weeks to reset and get his players back on track.

Everton's record at Anfield in the 21st century is among the worst any club has suffered against another in Premier League history, with their solitary win coming behind closed doors in 2021, and an eighth straight defeat in front of a crowd is likely, despite their current nine-game unbeaten streak.

Chris Buck Q&A

Cardinal Black press shot

How did you come to support Arsenal and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

Chris: My grandfather grew up in Avenell Road, Highbury, North London overlooking Arsenal's old ground, Highbury and their-then adjacent training pitch. He was evacuated down to Wales at the start of the war but brought The Arsenal with him and it's been a generational thing in my family ever since.

My favourite memory as an Arsenal fan is probably watching them win the league at Old Trafford in 2002 ("Wiltooorrrrd!"). I was only 11 and it seemed like a given that Arsenal won things then but 23 years on, I can appreciate its significance.

A close second would be Reiss Nelson's last-minute winner against Bournemouth in 2023; in that moment, I was utterly convinced that it was some divine sign that we were meant to win the league! Alas...

Who have been your favourite five players for your club?

Chris: Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires, Bukayo Saka

What's going on with the band at the moment?

Chris: We're just gearing up to release our second record, Midnight at The Valencia on May 23rd on Thirty Tigers before embarking on our biggest tour to date, across North America, the UK and Europe! Exciting times.
