The New England Patriots and head coach Mike Vrabel have been connected as a potential suitor for Colorado Buffaloes star wide receiver and cornerback combo player Travis Hunter.
Holding the No. 4 overall pick, there is a very real chance that Hunter could be available when the Patriots are on the clock. If that opportunity presents itself, it would be very difficult for New England to pass on him.
After winning the Heisman Trophy during the 2024 college season, Hunter has his eyes set on playing both sides of the football in the NFL. He was a star both ways last year with Colorado.
Offensively, Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wider receiver As a cornerback on defense, he totaled 35 tackles, a forced fumble, four interceptions, and 11 defended passes.
While Hunter would like to continue playing both sides of the football, Vrabel has spoken out with a different opinion on the subject.
As shared by Alex Barth of 985 The Sports Hub, Vrabel believes that Hunter could improve quite a bit by playing just one position.
"I think there are some things he can improve on by concentrating on one position," Vrabel said.
Mike Vrabel on Travis Hunter: "I think there are some things he can improve on by concentrating on one position."
Vrabel says Hunter would have to have "a primary focus" of a position but could do more as he gets more comfortable in the NFL

Not long ago, Hunter spoke out about being ready to prove that he could play both wide receiver and cornerback at the NFL. His comments were in response to Travis Kelce mentioning that he would have to prove he could do it.
"Like he said, I have to prove that I can do it. So that's my main thing," Hunter said. "Imma prove that I'm gonna do it and I can do it. So he's not telling no lie. I still got to prove it. You know, I just can't go to the league and they just, 'Oh, here you go, Trav, you could do all this,' and I don't go out and show up how I'm supposed to show up."
Hunter won't have to wait much longer to find out where he'll begin his NFL career. The first round of the NFL draft is set to begin on April 24.
