The Phoenix Suns have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NBA so far this season as they are currently fighting for their playoff lives with the postseason right around the corner.
Of course, the Suns entered the season with lofty expectations thanks to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal as many believed that they would be a contender in the Western Conference.
Phoenix has not lived up to those expectations though as they currently sit 11th in the West standings with a 35-40 record that has them a game and a half behind the Sacramento Kings for the final Play-In spot.
It looked as though the Suns were going to make a run for a playoff spot over the last few weeks as they had won four consecutive games and had climbed into the final Play-In spot.
They have since lost three consecutive games including suffering their worst loss of the season on Sunday when they were blown out by the Houston Rockets 148-109.
To make matters worse for the Suns, Durant left the game with an ankle injury and it was announced on Monday that he will miss at least one week due to a left ankle sprain.
Phoenix Suns All-Star Kevin Durant is expected to miss at least one week through team's three-game road trip with a left ankle sprain, sources tell ESPN. Suns are 1.5 games out of Play-In with the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA.

This is a massive blow to the Suns and one that will likely have a major impact on their future.
Of course, the Suns are already without Beal as he has been sidelined for seven consecutive games due to a hamstring injury and with Durant now sidelined, it will be tough for Phoenix to make the Play-In.
Because of this and their poor season, the Suns are expected to make some major changes in the offseason which could see them trade away Durant like they almost did at the trade deadline.
If that does end up happening and with the Suns' season very close to already being over, Sunday's game may be the last time fans see Durant in a Suns jersey unless they are able to somehow make a late push without him.
