Steelers Looking for at Least Two More Quarterbacks

The Pittsburgh Steelers are rolling into the rest of the offseason with uncertainty at the quarterback position.

As the team continues to be at the mercy of Aaron Rodgers, who has yet to announce his decision on playing in Pittsburgh - or for that matter anywhere - next season, don't think the situation is lost on general manager Omar Khan.

Khan spoke to reporters at the league meeting on Monday and addressed the position before he was asked.

"I know you guys will ask about the QB position," Khan said. "I'll just say that we always go to training camp with four quarterbacks, and we have two under contract right now, so all options are on the table through free agency, trade or draft, obviously."

Mason Rudolph and Skyler Thompson are the two quarterbacks under contract that Khan referred to. That's hardly a lineup that strikes fear into opposing defenses.

With the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants basically out of the running for Rodgers' services, the Steelers are still his best option - unless he decides to sit out 2025 and attempt a return to the league in 2026 at the age of 43.

Khan also implied he knows the market well.

"We kind of have a feel for what's out there and what other teams are thinking," Khan said. "Conversations happen here, they happen on the phone and start at the combine usually, so we have an idea of what's out there at this point."
