PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have just six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. That is not a lot, especially if a team wants to fill in all of their needs, and the Steelers have plenty of those to fill.
With the DK Metcalf trade taking the Steelers’ second-round pick, the team could look to move around the board to acquire more draft capital. In fact, it seems that is at least a consideration.
General manager Omar Khan said that all options are on the table, but the team would like to explore at least gaining more draft picks.
“I would say, I think you guys have gotten to know me over the last couple years. I think all options are table,” Khan said. “Staying put, moving up, moving back. I’m open to anything if it makes sense for us.”
For Pittsburgh, instead of filling a hole this year, it could be the luxury of drafting a need for the future. They could take a chance on a safety or offensive lineman earlier, much like they did when they drafted Mason McCormick in 2024. That is the type of flexibility Khan likes to work form in the NFL Draft, and they certainly do not want to feel panicked by any position heading into the season.
Khan has moved up and down the board in his time as a general manager, and it would be unsurprising if he decides to do it once again.
