A new update for NBA 2K25 has been released in preparation for the launch of Season 6 on April 4. The new NBA 2K25 update closes out Season 5 with a number of quality of life improvements and bug fixes for gameplay and in-game modes.
Released in September 2024, NBA 2K25 continues to receive major content updates to keep NBA fans invested in the latest NBA 2K entry. Five months after launch, 2K launched NBA 2K25 Season 5 on February 21 with a slew of new content and rewards, including a level 14 Personal Quadcopter and level 39 Superhero Outfit in MyCareer, level 18 Cyber Basketball and level 38 Legend Badge in MyTeam, and a new Pro Pass. Moreover, there were minor updates in Season 5 to update the likeness of players and their outfits for their respective teams, including the Utah Jazz, Miami Heat, and Detroit Pistons. More changes will be made in update 6.0, which launches a few days before Season 6 begins on April 4.

2K released NBA 2K25 update 6.0 on March 31, and the patch notes confirm that Season 6 will begin at 11:00 a.m. ET on April 4. The NBA 2K developers want players to "stay tuned" for the Season 6 reveal this week, and the latest update prepares for the launch of the season with a few likeness changes, numerous bug fixes, and in-game changes. Washington Mystics center Shakira Austin received a general likeness update, and Los Angeles Clippers point guard Patty Mills received a dynamic hair update. Performance, stability, and visual improvements have been made to the City to improve the overall experience, and a bug that would cause gameplay to hang or crash in the City's Appearance menu was also fixed.
Moreover. NBA 2K25's MyCareer mode received a few notable bug fixes. Players will now be properly returned to the Finalize Build screen after completing test games in MyPlayer Builder, and a hang that could occur in the Edit Playbook menu has been fixed. Performance improvements and minor updates and fixes to the UI in MyTeam have been applied as well. NBA 2K25 update 6.0 also brought stability fixes and improvements to MyNBA, MyNBA Online, and the W. Another hang instance has been fixed in MyNBA Online during the offseason segment.
After installing the update, players may want to use any remaining MyTEAM 2XP coins and redeem season levels, since both will expire when NBA 2K25 Season 5 ends on April 4. NBA 2K25 Season 6 will bring new opportunities to earn MyTEAM 2XP coins and level up a new Pro Pass, and 2K will likely share more details closer to the season's launch.
