FRISCO - A major decision awaits the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 12 pick in the NFL Draft. The team has not been accustomed to drafting this high after a recent stretch of three straight 12-5 campaigns but they will be in a prime position on Day 1.
Dallas holds this positioning at a critical moment for the team. Assuming Micah Parsons gets his desired contract extension this offseason, the Cowboys will have their three foundational pieces secured for the next few years.
Essentially, that provides an exact window for this group to compete for a championship, something they have not seen in three decades.
Clearly, getting this pick right is very important. It is both an easy and difficult position, given the Cowboys have an abundance of positional needs to choose from, but may regret their decision if they do not choose correctly.
With the draft only weeks away at this point, the list of targets is starting to wind down. One name commonly settled upon in the latest mock projections is Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan.
McMillan is arguably the best pure receiver in the 2025 class, posting 1,300 yards each of his last two seasons with the Wildcats. The Cowboys are in search of playmakers to deploy behind CeeDee Lamb and McMillan certainly qualifies for that job.
But the highly touted prospect has come under scrutiny after an old video surfaced where McMillan posited that he does not watch film and does not like watching football.
When asked if he does not watch football, he replied "at all." He would add "I don't like watching film either. I don't ever need to watch it by myself because we go over it as a receiver group."

However, the original video came from an episode of OFF SZN from early 2023. That of course happened before McMillan put up sensational numbers in his final two seasons in the college ranks.
a clipped video from a podcast is making it's rounds showing WR Tetairoa McMillan saying: "I don't watch football... I don't like watching film either"
the host said it was "from the offseason" as if it was a recent recording

McMillan has not spoken on the viral clip or any resulting reaction. In truth, his play on the field has done the necessary talking for him. The hope is though that the mentally displayed in that clip from two years ago has since changed. Regardless of whether or not McMillan deployed at strategy at Arizona, it will not fly in the pros.
Conversely, responsibility falls on teams like the Cowboys to do their homework and ensure their prime targets are fits within the locker room and at the next level. Assuming McMillan checks those boxes, he is a name to keep an eye on for Cowboys fans as the draft approaches.
