Eagles ‘Trade Dump’ Mentioned With Dallas Goedert

As the calendar gets closer to the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have a key decision to make regarding the future of one of their top pass catchers.

With Dallas Goedert carrying a large cap hit going into the 2025 season, the Eagles have to determine whether they can restructure the contract of the 30-year-old tight end, release him, or try and find a trade partner.

Speaking to reporters at the league's owner meetings in Florida on Monday afternoon, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman spoke about the recent movement between the team and their star tight end.

"There's no update," Roseman said. "Obviously, Dallas has been a tremendous player and person for us. ... The opportunities that we got into free agency with [TEs] Harrison Bryant and [Kylen] Granson were just opportunities we felt were good for our football team. I know certainly that Dallas is unique player. So really, that's kind of where we're standing."

Goedert has missed 10 games total in the last two seasons for a number of different injuries. Philadelphia has been fine without him, but desperately misses his balanced control in run-blocking and pass-catching duties.

Any potential move from Goedert could come during the 2025 Draft. At least ahead of the June 1st deadline.

"Dallas Goedert entering the last year of his deal with the Eagles," NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. "This has felt like it could go either way. Not a player they're looking to dump but a possible tough decision on financials and what a trade might net. One of the players to watch as we get closer to the draft."

Philadelphia has a decision to make regarding Goedert and their current standstill won't make life easier for them this offseason.
