Mavericks vs Nets Injury Report: Anthony Davis, Cam Johnson Status Revealed

The Dallas Mavericks are set to host the Brooklyn Nets for their 76th game of the 2024-25 season. The Mavericks have gone through a whirlwind of events, especially in the second half of this season.

Dallas has had a challenging season, from trading their international superstar Luka Doncic to suffering a multitude of injuries to their top players. Nonetheless, with only six games left in the season after Monday, they have a shot at hosting a play-in tournament game as the No. 9 seed.

The Mavericks have hit a great stride lately, and it's in large part thanks to the new superstar center, Anthony Davis. Davis has returned from his adductor injury and has played stellar. While that is the case, he landed on the injury report for Dallas.

Davis is on there due to his adductor injury; fortunately, he has been upgraded to available and will start for the Mavericks.

The Nets will be without their top scorer, Cameron Johsnon. Johnson is ruled out due to a back injury. He suffered the injury in Saturday's win over the Wizards and was unable to shake his questionable tag for Monday's game.

With Johnson sidelined, players such as Trendon Watford, Jalen Wilson, and Ziaire Williams could see a bump in playing time.

The Nets are in a rebuilding year and will seek the highest draft pick this offseason.

The Mavericks will look to continue their stellar ways, especially Davis. Davis will play in his fifth game as a Maverick. So far, he is averaging 17.8 points per game, 9.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 40.6 percent from the field in 29.0 minutes of action.

In 46 games this season, the 10-time All-Star is averaging 25.0 points per game, 11.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 1.2 steals while shooting 51.8 percent from the field in 33.8 minutes of action.

The Mavericks enter this matchup as heavy favorites with a -9.5 spread.

Dallas has been solid at home, posting a 20-16 record on its own court. Offensively, it ranks fifth in the Western Conference, putting up 115.0 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the field.

Brooklyn, on the other hand, has struggled on the road, holding a 13-26 record away from home. The Nets have allowed an average of 111.9 points per game while being outscored by 6.8 points per contest.

Over their last 10 games, the Mavericks have gone 5-5, averaging 117.8 points, 39.0 rebounds, 24.5 assists, 7.5 steals, and 3.1 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 51.3 percent from the field. However, their defense has been a concern, allowing 121.0 points per contest during that span.

Meanwhile, the Nets have struggled mightily, posting a 2-8 record in their last 10 outings. During that stretch, Brooklyn has averaged 104.5 points per game while conceding 114.2 points to their opponents.
