China launches drills 'closing in' on Taiwan from multiple directions

TAIPEI -- China said Tuesday morning that was launching military exercises that would "close in" on Taiwan, ratcheting up tensions.

The People's Liberation Army's Eastern Theater Command said the drills would be organized across the army, navy and rocket forces, and would approach Taiwan from multiple directions.
