NFL Legend’s Family Terrorized In Frightening Video

Professional athletes as a collective have seen their safety be threatened at an extraordinary rate over the last year. For a while, cases of home robberies of these athletes were popping up at an alarming rate.

Luka Doncic, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Travis Kelce were all among those whose homes were burglarized. But a number of additional people suffered from these crimes.

Former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is the latest to join this unfortunate list. Saturday, a day before he would turn 37 years old, Sherman's home was robbed at gunpoint.

"House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn't what anyone wants for a birthday gift," Sherman wrote. "Scary situation that my wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people, please reach out."

Sherman posted photo and video evidence of the incident to his social media, requesting help in finding those criminals.

The FBI charged seven Chilean men who allegedly had involvement in the string of burglaries. Those crimes resulted in the theft in over $2 million in valuables.

From the evidence available thus far, it appears there is no connection to those alleged crimes. Nonetheless, this is still a scary sight and occurrence for the Sherman family.

Sherman played 11 NFL seasons, three of which he spent with the Niners. He played the majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, becoming a key figure of the team's "Legion of Boom" defense that won Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014.

Since retiring from the league, Sherman has joined Amazon Prime as an NFL analyst for their Thursday night broadcasts.
