Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst faced members of the Green Bay media corps and among the most urgent matters he addressed is the fate of the two-time Pro Bowl who has been in trade rumors ever since the end of the 2024 season where the team reached the Wild Card round. He did not get to play due to a knee injury that ended his season.
“We invested a lot in Jaire and want to make sure, if he’s not gonna be on our football team helping us win games, that we get something back for that investment. So we’ll see where it goes,” Gutekunst told reporters on Monday.

Alexander has been with the Packers since getting picked by the team at the 18th spot in 2018. He was integral in the Green Bay’s performances as a legit Super Bowl contender since then.
He was named to the Pro Bowl twice – in 2020 and 2022 – and was part of the Second-team All-Pro in those years as well.
GM being patient with Jaire Alexander
While fans are urging the team to decide on Alexander’s future quickly, Gutekunst is being patient.
“We have some time here to kind of figure that out and see what’s best for him and for the organization.”

Although his words point to Jaire being out of the team by this season, he is not closing any doors.
He said it is a possibility that Alexander will continue playing with them.
The 28-year-old cornerback, known for being an outspoken player, is yet to release a statement.
