On March 26, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu attended the activity commemorating the second anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Honduras hosted by the Honduran Embassy in China and delivered a speech.
Miao Deyu used three key terms, namely "hope", "dividend", and "popular support", to explain the course and achievements of China-Honduras exchanges and cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Miao Deyu noted that on this day two years ago, the heads of state of China and Honduras made the historic decision to establish diplomatic relations, marking the beginning of a "spring" in bilateral relations. Over the past two years, bilateral relations have developed rapidly and comprehensively. Cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, agriculture, culture, and at sub-national level has been continuously advancing, bringing abundant benefits to the people of both countries. China is ready to work with Honduras to implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, increase visits, cooperation, exchanges and understanding, and create more "stories of spring" in China-Honduras relations.
Minister of Tourism of Honduras Yadira Gomez and Ambassador of Honduras to China Salvador Enrique Moncada stated that the establishment of diplomatic relations with China is a historic decision made by Honduras. Honduras upholds the one-China principle, values its friendship with China, and will actively promote the in-depth development of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including economy, trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The people of Honduras are warm and hospitable, the scenery is unique and beautiful, and the ancient Mayan civilization is captivating. More Chinese citizens are welcome to visit Honduras.
