Bayer Leverkusen are the latest club to be interested in Andrei Ratiu, Rayo Vallecano’s right-back, according to a new report. Previously, Liverpool FC and FC Barcelona had been mentioned as potential landing spots for the Romanian international.
He has a €25m release clause and it’s understood he will be joining another club soon as suitors being lining up for him. The 26-year-old is a product of Villarreal’s academy and the Yellow Submarine will get 50% of his fee due to a sell-on clause.
Ratiu has also reportedly caught the eye of Atlético Madrid, Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur, as several clubs see him as good value for money in the upcoming transfer window.
Leverkusen are just the latest to be scouting Ratiu, as they seek a replacement for Jeremie Frimpong, as the Dutchman is said to be heading to a new club soon.
Barcelona, for their part, are looking to bolster depth at the full-back positions. Hansi Flick has shown reluctancy to rest Jules Koundé as the Catalans do not have stellar options at right-back on the bench.
