OKC Thunder Make NBA History in Dominant Victory Over Bulls

The Oklahoma City Thunder entered Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls looking to extend their win streak and they were able to do so in dominant fashion.

Oklahoma City got out to a perfect start in Monday's game as they outscored the Bulls 29-18 in the first quarter. They then led Chicago by 34 points and halftime and they never looked back as they defeated the Bulls 145-117.

This victory marked the Thunder's 10th consecutive win and also their 63rd of the season as their dominant run continues.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder as he recorded 27 points and 12 assists. Jalen Williams added 23 points of his own while Isaiah Joe dropped 31 points off the bench while shooting 8-14 from three-point range.

For the Bulls, Josh Giddey led the way in his first return to Oklahoma City since the offseason trade as he recorded a near triple-double with 15 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

With the victory, the Thunder also made NBA history as they have clinched the best single season record by a Western Conference team versus an Eastern Conference team in NBA history.

This season, the Thunder are an incredible 28-1 against the East, beating out the prior record of 27-3 which was held by the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, 2006-07 Dallas Mavericks and 1999-00 Los Angeles Lakers.

The Thunder have clinched the best single-season record by a West team vs. the East in NBA history:

2024-25 Thunder: 28-1

2015-16 Warriors: 27-3

2006-07 Mavs: 27-3

1999-00 Lakers: 27-3

Of course, the only East team to defeat the Thunder this season was the East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers in early January.

Oklahoma City can also add another victory to this number as they still have one more game against an East team this season on April 4 when they host the Detroit Pistons.

This is an incredible accomplishment for the Thunder and one that tells just how dominant their season has been thus far, and also one that could foretell the future if they are able to make a run to the NBA Finals.
