Each year, the NFL Players Association conducts a survey of its members to gather insights on their respective teams.
The point is to equip players with valuable information for career decisions while also encouraging higher standards across all 32 teams.
Players evaluate their teams in several categories, including family treatment, food and dining services, nutrition staff, locker room conditions, training facilities, medical staff, weight room, strength coaches, team travel, head coaching and ownership.
This year, only one team received an "F" in the ownership category on their report card: the New York Jets.
On Monday, Jets owner Woody Johnson spoke out against the NFLPA's survey, calling it "bogus."
"My first read is I think it was totally bogus," Johnson said at the NFL's annual meeting per the New York Post. "I thought this whole setup, the way it was done … that's enough said on that.
"How they collected the information, who they collected from was supposed to be according to the agreement we have with the league," Johnson said. "It's supposed to be a process where we have representatives and they have representatives, so we know that it's an honest survey. That was violated, in my opinion. I'm going to leave it at that. But I think there's a lot of owners who looked at that survey and said this is not fair, it's not balanced, it's not every player, it's not even representative of the players."
While Johnson disagrees with how the survey results were collected, he did state he plans to strive for better efforts when it comes to his relationship with Jets players.
He took specific issue with the grievances over the food at the Jets training center.
"The relationship with the players is very, very important," Johnson said. "We want to make sure the players are involved now. Whatever they want to comment on, have a committee of the players and if they like soufflé this or fish that or stake that, they should tell us. If they're getting bored with the food or bored with the way the place looks, let me know. I can't do anything if they don't tell me. We're going to have a lot better communication with the players."
