Warriors’ Matchup Against Grizzlies Holds Added Weight After Recent Result

The Golden State Warriors are on the road on Tuesday as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a crucial Western Conference showdown.

Golden State enters Tuesday's contest amid a two-game winning streak and they have also won seven of their last 10 games.

They will now look to continue their hot streak against a struggling Grizzlies team that has lost three consecutive games and seven of their last 10 contests.

Of course, Tuesday's game is a major one for Western Conference playoff seeding as the Warriors try to pass the Grizzlies with a victory.

With the Grizzlies loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday, the Warriors are now tied in the loss column and just half of a game back of Memphis for the fifth seed in the West.

Golden State would pass the Grizzlies for the fifth spot in the standings with a victory and they would also clinch the tiebreaker as well with a win.

Grizzlies lose to Celtics. Warriors now tied in loss column and half-game back of #5 seed. Head-to-head matchup in Memphis tomorrow. GSW clinches tiebreaker with a win. Everything tightening.

Of course, the battle for the fifth seed in the West is a tight one as the Grizzlies, Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers are separated by just one game and it may come down to the final day of the regular season to know who will fill the position.

For the Warriors, they have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline and pairing him alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, but they will need to continue their hot streak to remain out of the Play-In.

The Grizzlies have been the worst of the four teams over the last few weeks and they are coming off firing head coach Taylor Jenkins on Friday which was a surprising move.

Despite their recent struggles, the Grizzlies will still be a tough matchup for the Warriors thanks to their size and their star duo of Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

While that may be the case, the Warriors are going to do everything they can to climb the West standings before making potentially another championship run.
