Liverpool and Arne Slot are set for a radical shake-up of their forward line over the summer - and Colombian star Luis Diaz look set to be one of the star names shown the door.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: "My information at the moment is that there is nothing advanced or concrete in terms of new contract talks at Liverpool."

He explained Diaz wants to stay at Anfield before adding: "There is already interest from several clubs around Europe in Diaz and also abroad. There’s interest from Saudi, as mentioned, but he’s also appreciated by some people at Barcelona."

And when asked about Arsenal 's interest, he said: "I have nothing to report on the links with Arsenal. But let’s see between now and the end of the season what happens with the Colombian winger."

Arsenal have been urged to target Victor Osimhen instead of Viktor Gyokeres by their former midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, who believes the Nigeria striker has 'more pedigree' than the sought-after Sporting Lisbon star.

The Frenchman told Pokerfirma : "If I was picking between Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, then I would go for Osimhen. Osimhen has more pedigree than Gyokeres – he would be the better choice for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.

"But, if I had to choose one striker that Arsenal should break the bank for this summer, then I have to put Alexander Isak in front of both Osimhen and Gyokeres.

"Isak already knows the Premier League, there’s no adaption period. He’s off the shelf, ready to deliver."
