Liverpool are watching Wolves star Matheus Cunha ahead of a potential summer swoop, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed last week (23 March) that Darwin Nunez is the first player in line to leave Anfield at the end of the season and could push immediately for an exit.
Cunha is being lined up as a potential replacement for Nunez after his good form with Wolves so far this season.
The 25-year-old signed a new contract at Molineux in February but has already announced publicly that he wants to move on in a huge development.

Speaking to The Guardian (30 March), he said: “We’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
Liverpool could land the Brazil international via the £62.5million release clause inserted into his new contract with Wolves.

Cunha has hit 15 goals in 29 games across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign with Vitor Pereira’s side set to stave off the threat of relegation to the Championship.
He played in both games for Brazil in March in qualification for the World Cup – which takes place in the United States, Mexico and Canada next year.
The forward is currently serving a suspension after being red-carded in Wolves’ FA Cup loss against Bournemouth.

Hato could join Liverpool for £40m
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (31 March) that Ajax star Jorrel Hato has been identified by Liverpool as the long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.
Hato, 19, is considered one of the best young defenders in Europe and Ajax will demand a fee of around £40million for his signature.
Van Dijk’s future at Anfield is under the microscope with his contract set to expire in June.
