Newcastle United opt for interesting ploy to get players back 'in the zone'

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe had his squad back at St James' Park on Monday morning in order to help get the Magpies back into zone after a weekend of celebrations.

There has been a 30-day gap between Newcastle playing against Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup and the clash against Brentford tomorrow. And the trip to St James' Park was a gentle reminder of the environment that could easily be lost amid the masses of memories of Wembley and the incredible 300,000 turn out of fans on Saturday.

But the visit of the Bees is very much back to business for [Newcastle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/newcastle-united-fc). Now the head coach will use the whole experience as fuel to push for another big prize which will be qualifying for the Champions League.

[Howe](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/eddie-howe) said: "It whets your appetite. You want more. You know how hard it is to win anything in football. So the work never stops."

Howe will stage his regular pre-match press conference at the media centre this morning and played down any personal accolades after being the first man since Doug Livingstone to lead Newcastle to a domestic honour.

Howe said: "I just try to work my hardest and do my best for the football club. It is not about me it is about the collective and the whole community of the football club. It is not about any one person, it is about celebrating our success together. That is with every single person that supports Newcastle."
