Mohammed Kudus is supposedly the subject of an incoming £84 million bid from Saudi Arabia.

West Ham head coach Graham Potter has backed Mohammed Kudus to return to form at the London Stadium the week after reports of a potential £84 million bid from Saudi Arabia.

The winger has managed just three goals in 24 Premier League appearances this term and hasn’t hit the back of the net in 2025. That run of poor form has led to transfer talk with GiveMeSport claiming that Al-Nassr could offer £84 million to sign Kudus this summer.

The Hammers paid £37 million to sign the player from Ajax in 2023 with any bid around the £84 million mark offering the club to more than double their money on the struggling forward. However, speaking ahead of this week’s meeting with Wolves, Potter praised Kudus and backed the Ghana international to return to form.

Graham Potter backs struggling West Ham star

He said: “I think Mo has had probably a season that, from his perspective, would be a little bit disappointing, not because of his lack of effort or anything like that, but sometimes these things happen.

“Speaking personally, he’s been great with us in terms of how he’s worked every day, fantastic. He has built his fitness up, built his condition up to the point where he can sustain things a lot better now.

“Football can go like that sometimes. You can have a little spell when it doesn’t quite happen for you in front of goal or your final pass just doesn’t quite get there. It doesn’t take much to turn that round.

“How he contributed, for example, against Arsenal in our win there, even though he didn’t score or assist, he was a top, top player in that game and massively helped us. So the numbers say something, but there’s also the [other] aspects of his performance that have been really, really good.”

Kudus aware of performing ‘below standards’

Kudus is all too aware of his struggle for form himself. The player had been linked with a move to Arsenal or Liverpool at points this season but those rumours have quietened down with the winger struggling for goals.

The player told the West Ham website: “I’ve been below the standards I’ve set for myself. With the standards I’ve set and what I’ve shown, I think everyone also expects a lot from me, but I expect a lot from myself as well.

“I’ll keep doing my thing and keep trying until the last game of the season. I know a lot of things haven’t gone well this season. It’s football, there are a lot of ups and downs, but you need to be yourself at all times. I’ve set very high expectations of myself, even more than what the fans and others think, and I know the input and impact I can have in a game. I wouldn’t say it’s been my best season, but as a team, we’re at a stage right now where we are building and growing. The most important thing for me is to keep going and keep believing in myself and doing my thing. There’s a lot more to come from me.”
