Enzo Maresca is expected to be backed with funds to bolster his Chelsea side come the summer transfer window.

Chelsea return to Premier League action this week with the small matter of a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

Both the Blues and the Spurs have somewhat underwhelmed this season with Enzo Maresca’s side falling away from a potential title chase in dramatic fashion. Chelsea now sit fourth in the table, 21 points off league leaders Liverpool

There have been plenty of positives for Maresca to take from his first campaign with more investment expected in the summer. LondonWorld looks at what a dream Chelsea starting XI could look like next season should current transfer rumours come true.

Chelsea weigh up swoop for Serie A goalkeeper

Goalkeeper: Vanja Milinkovic-Savic

Defenders: Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Jules Kounde

The BBC reported in February that Chelsea remained ‘reluctant’ to spend more money on a goalkeeper this summer. The club splurged £21 million on Filip Jorgensen last summer and already have Robert Sanchez and Kepa Arrizabalaga on their books - the latter on loan at AFC Bournemouth this season.

However, Enzo Maresca is clearly not convinced by any of those options. Tuttosport this week claim that Torino and Serbia star Vanja Milinkovic-Savic will be targeted by the Blues. Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Sport claim that Chelsea have reignited interest in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde to bolster their back line.

Nico Williams £50m move rekindled

Defensive midfielders: Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo

Attacking midfield: Nico Williams, Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo could be viewed as one of the strongest defensive midfield pairings in the league and there’s little need to chop and change those roles. Cole Palmer will continue to be the star man playing just behind the striker and Pedro Neto has all the hallmarks of a Maresca favourite.

With Christopher Nkunku linked with an exit, there could be room for investment on the flanks. Football Transfers has this week claimed renewed interest in Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams, who has a release clause of just under £50 million in his current deal.

Chelsea keep tabs on Arsenal target

Striker: Benjamin Sesko

Nicolas Jackson has bagged nine goals in all competitions this season but that tally is not enough for Maresca to get where he wants this Chelsea side to be. Several prolific forwards have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent months and the latest is Benjamin Sesko.

The RB Leipzig man has plundered 17 goals in all competitions already this season. He’s wanted by Arsenal but David Ornstein has claimed that Chelsea are also considering a move for the Slovenian.

In other news, Chelsea fans won't be happy with the Premier League announcement for Tottenham Hotspur.
