Last night, Wolves announced a new contract for defender Yerson Mosquera.
The Colombia international has put pen to paper on fresh terms at Molineux, in what is brilliant news for the centre-back after a frustrating campaign.
Yerson Mosquera has been out injured for Wolves since September.
He suffered ACL and MCL damage against Aston Villa in a Premier League clash, leaving fans gutted.
There was real upset when Mosquera got injured when he did, because he’d been one of Wolves’ brightest sparks in the opening weeks of the season.
Wanderers had been struggling, but Mosquera’s competitive edge had impressed fans.
But Wolves clearly see a lot of potential in him, and Vitor Pereira has been speaking about South American.

Last night, as Wolves announced the new contract for Mosquera, Pereira gave some comments about the 23-year-old.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
And it’s very clear he’s a player he intends to turn to a lot next season.
Pereira has been taken by his style on the pitch. But he also noted the way Mosquera conducts himself off it, suggesting he sees him as a leader.
He told Wolves official: “I’m very happy because when I started to study the team, Mosquera was playing. He has the profile in a central defender that I like. He’s aggressive, strong, fast, good with the ball, and for me he has all the attributes to help us. I don’t have any doubts that he would fit my system.
“He’s injured, but every time he’s playing with teammates, giving energy. He goes to the stadium and tries to share his smile with everybody, always smiling. This is the profile that I like to be in my side.
“Inside the pitch is a player that can add something more to us. Outside of the pitch, he’s a leader with a smile, with good energy, and I’m very happy for him and for us.”
Wolves fans have also rejoiced over the news of Mosquera getting a new contract, and feel he could play a big part going forward.
Mosquera can help Wolves become fearsome at the back
Mosquera returning to fitness will be such a boost for Wolves.
While Matt Doherty has done a very respectable job as the right sided centre-back, we all saw how promising Mosquera was looking before his injury.
In recent times the Wolves defence has looked very vulnerable.
But it has the potential to be one of the strongest parts of the team next season. As Mosquera was left out of Wolves’ update Premier League squad, he can’t play again this term, but hopefully he’ll put himself in a position to return strong in 2025/26.
Mosquera could help Wolves become formidable at the back alongside Emmanuel Agbadou and Toti Gomes, and that would be very welcome to see.
