REPORT: Chelsea Make £29m Offer In Attempt To Land 22-Year-Old La Liga Attacker

Chelsea have reportedly made a bid to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Giuliano Simeone for £29 million.

The Blues look set to make a splash in the summer transfer window. They are likely to sign a goalkeeper, centre-back and attacker as they look to add more depth under Enzo Maresca and build a side capable of challenging for a title.

This season, they are fighting for a Champions League spot, sitting in fourth place with just nine games left to go. They also still have a shot at winning silverware in the Europa Conference League.

However, looking ahead to the summer transfer window, it seems that they are already making moves to sign players. They have already signed Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda, and now look to be adding another.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea have placed a £29 million bid for Atletico Madrid attacker Giuliano Simeone, who can play both as a winger or up front.

The report says that the Blues want to secure him before the summer transfer window opens as several European teams are keeping an eye on the 22-year-old. Simeone has made 37 appearances for Atletico so far this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.

Could a Chelsea move for Simeone indicate a decision on Sancho?

If the reports linking Chelsea with Simeone are true, then it could indicate that the Blues are considering not signing winger Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal.

It emerged recently that the Blues do have the option to send him back to Man United despite the fact that there is an obligation to buy in the loan deal. They would have to pay a fee however if they wanted to do so.

Sancho has been solid without being exceptional during his time at Stamford Bridge, making 23 Premier League appearances, with two goals and four assists.

If Chelsea do opt against signing the English winger, then it would free up room for them to sign Simeone who plays in a similar position.
