'Compelling': What a lawyer is now saying about Burnley’s chances against Everton in court

Everton have a lot going on behind the scenes currently with the just nine games remaining in their season.

David Moyes has returned to Merseyside and done more than the owners probably will have expected in his opening two months.

After a miserable season under Sean Dyche, Everton have now all but secured their Premier League status for the 2025/26 campaign.

Everton shared their latest financial report on Monday which shared further losses for the seventh year in a row.

However, there is another financial uncertainty still await the Toffees over the coming months.

The Friedkins will back Moyes in the transfer market this summer, but they may also have to fork out to Championship side Burnley in court.

However, there is some positive to take from the lawyer who has also said that despite their expected evidence, it remains a difficult case to prove.

This comes amid the Premier League finding themselves in a really sticky situation with Manchester City’s ongoing case.

Everton have been cited a potential £20m payout to Burnley with very few similar cases to go off as an example.

The main thing the Blues will be concerned about for now is their spot in the Premier League ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton set for transformational summer

Alongside the number of players set to leave the club at the end of their contracts, it is going to be a huge summer financially for the club.

Everton are set to see major revenue increases when they make the move to their new state-of-the-art stadium.

The new owners are providing a much more positive outlook for the future with plenty going on behind the scenes.

Major changes are being made to the structure of the club, with Angus Kinnear set to join Everton at the end of the season.

And the club will be hoping this situation with Burnley can be brushed under the rug as quickly as possible.
