Ajax will demand over £40 million to part ways with 19-year-old Dutch defensive prodigy Jorrel Hato amid his links with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
According to a report by Football Insider, Jorrel Hato has garnered a significant market heading into the summer transfer window. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are keen on signing the Ajax defensive sensation. Meanwhile, the Eredivisie giants want over £40 million to part ways with the Dutchman.
The rapid rise of Jorrel Hato
Jorrel Hato has established himself as one of the best young players in the world since breaking into the first-team squad at Ajax. A native of Rotterdam, the versatile Dutch defender spent most of his formative years thus far in his hometown before joining Ajax and graduating from the Eredivisie club’s youth division.
The 19-year-old has been a mainstay at the back for Ajax for a few years, and he has also broken into his national squad. Hato has turned out over 100 times thus far for the Eredivisie club while chipping in with four goals and nine assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several European bigwigs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
A man in demand
The Dutchman has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Takehiro Tomiyasu has struggled with fitness issues. In addition, Jakub Kiwior faces an uncertain future at the Emirates. So, Hato is a viable target for Arsenal. As for Liverpool, the Merseyside club will look to sign a left-back and a centre-back in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are in a spot of bother over Virgil van Dijk’s long-term future, while the Dutch defender is approaching the twilight of his career. In addition, Andrew Robertson has blown hot and cold in the last 12 months. So, the versatile Jorrel Hato is an option worth considering for Liverpool. Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in the Ajax prodigy is understandable.
Harry Maguire is on the wrong side of 30, while Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans will likely leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window. As for Real Madrid, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Eder Militao has suffered two long-term knee injuries in as many seasons. So, Hato has emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid.
The latest report has revealed Ajax’s asking price, with the Eredivisie demanding over £40 million to part ways with him. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid should have the funds to afford a deal of £40 million-plus for the 19-year-old Dutch defensive sensation.
