Goals have been hard to come by since Graham Potter took charge, but with strikers Evan Ferguson and Niclas Fullkrug now fit and ready to play, the time has surely come to ditch the safety-first approach.

Speaking at his press conference in the build-up to today’s clash, Potter described Wolves away as a “tough game.” Now, I fully understand the need to be respectful and avoid labelling tonight’s opposition as terrible—but I sincerely hope he hasn’t been addressing his players in the same overly cautious tone.

Because make no mistake—this game is winnable. And it should not be approached as though we’re walking into the Colosseum to battle the gladiator Maximus.

We’re heading to the Midlands to face a team who are far more Shih Tzu than savage wolf, and there is absolutely no excuse to park the bus tonight.

It’s been a long wait since our last outing against Everton, and with relegation no longer a threat, there’s a clear sense of apathy creeping in among the fanbase.

Now is the time to show something different. To play on the front foot. To give the travelling fans a glimpse of the more expansive, attacking football we’ve been promised under Potter.

Let’s hope tonight is the night we see it.
