However, the Lakers may be envisioning a longer-term future with Goodwin and are eager to keep him on the roster for another year, as his two-year minimum contract with the team includes a team option for the 2025-26 season, according to Keith Smith of Sportac.
If the Lakers exercise that team option, a small partial guarantee will be triggered. The deal becomes fully guaranteed on the league-wide date in January, which suggests the Lakers are likely to retain him for another year.
Jordan Goodwin has averaged 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 22 games this season, contributing solidly on both ends of the court for the Lakers.
