Arne Slot tries to get one up on David Moyes with ‘surprise’ Everton prediction

Arne Slot will be hoping he gets his revenge against Everton, but David Moyes might have a few tricks up his sleeve.

The Merseyside Derby is right around the corner, and after February’s meeting, there is plenty on the line.

James Tarkowski’s late strike gave Goodison Park a fitting farewell to the derby, as Slot himself showed his frustration.

The Liverpool boss will want to get his side back on track after some dismal form, but Moyes would love to add fuel to the fire.

Moyes enjoyed the last laugh the first time, but Slot might already be one step ahead.

Arne Slot makes ‘surprise’ Everton prediction vs Liverpool

Liverpool are seemingly going to win the Premier League title to Evertonians’ dismay, but there is a chance for the Toffees to ruffle a few feathers.

This is what the players have already done, as Virgil van Dijk was rattled by Everton in the first meeting this season.

Moyes can use this tool to his advantage as it’s likely to be a game where Slot’s side see the majority of the ball.

Well, the Liverpool boss has made his prediction in the pre-match press conference, and it seems like he already knows what Everton are going to do, showing ‘surprise’ if this doesn’t happen.

“I expect the same, but with one difference. Every time Everton players do something well, they don’t get the cheers and reactions,” Slot said.

“Football-wise, I expect the same, this is what Everton have done when Moyes is in charge.

“It will be a surprise if they are going to do something different.”

Everton set for a gruelling Liverpool test but Moyes has done it before

Luckily for the Toffees, they have a manager who has had countless visits to Anfield, so he knows exactly what to expect.

The Scotsman never managed to beat the Reds on their home patch but will no doubt use inspiration from Carlo Ancelotti’s win for Everton in 2021.

What Moyes does know is how to frustrate Liverpool, as he’s shown in the past with solid defensive displays, which has earned them a point.

Slot might think he’s one step ahead, but he’s up against a veteran of this Derby who’s seen it all before.
