Man United Have Made Fresh Enquiries For£25M Rated French Ace Who Has Been Likened To Eden Hazard

Manchester United have “asked to be kept informed” about the situation of Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, according to reports.

TBR Football claim that the Red Devils are one of several Premier League clubs keeping close tabs on the France Under 23 international.

Cherki‘s attitude has been called into question over the past couple of years and he has been put on the market by Lyon in the past, with the Ligue One side said to be willing to offload him for just £25m.

However, the 21-year-old has shown a better work ethic this season, and his form has improved as a result.

Cherki has scored 8 goals and provided an impressive 18 assists in 35 appearances, having also played an integral role in Lyon securing their passage through to the Europa League quarter-finals, where they will face United.

Teams across Europe are expected to compete with United for the player

TBRFootball report that Ruben Amorim’s side are just one of six English clubs who are monitoring Cherki, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle also in the mix.

Teams on the continent are keen on the Frenchman as well, with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain now considering bids for him.

Cherki has been compared to a former Chelsea star

While ostensibly a No.10, the midfielder has also played a lot of his football out wide this season, having started 15 times on the right flank for Lyon.

Along with his languid style and his natural talent on the ball, he has often been likened to Eden Hazard, although Cherki doesn’t have the same amount of pace as the Belgian.

There is no doubt that, if he can be signed for £25m, it would be worth United taking a gamble. The Manchester club don’t exactly have a lot of money to play with and Amorim needs reinforcements for his front three. Cherki would be a great fit for the one of the two positions either side of the striker.
