How excited are you to get back into the swing of things with two crucial games?
"I’m looking forward to it. It was a good international break for us. Entering the last quarter of the season now, we’ve got two really good games to look forward to."
Where do you think the surprise will come from against Bournemouth?
"I think they are a really good team. They are having a really good season and competed really well against Man City yesterday. We know it’s going to be a really, really tough game.
"Having a look at them, they are a really good side and seem to be getting better every season, so we know it’s a really big challenge."
How big of a challenge is it from your point of view?
"Every game is a big challenge. They are having a good season, they make it really difficult for you. They have some outstanding individuals and a good team, so it will be a big challenge and we’ll have to be at our best."
What positives can you take from the reverse fixture into this match?
"I thought we played really well in the last game. We were probably unlucky not to win, never mind lose. It was a game of fine margins, like a lot of them are, so we take lots of confidence from that.
"We’ll have to try and take a step further on Wednesday evening."
Sam Morsy is no longer a regular starterSam Morsy is no longer a regular starter (Image: Ross Halls) How useful has the time on the training pitch been during the international break?
"The manager loves being on the grass, training and working. It’s been really beneficial for us and we’ve done lots of work. The lads were really sharp and we’ve had some good training."
Have you been in touch with the players who were away on international duty?
"It depends on whether it’s important games or whatever. It will be nice to catch up with all of them. There have been some good goals and results for them."
You’ve had to be patient for minutes. Does that impact your role as captain?
"Not much, really. You’ve got to stay consistent with it. If you only do your roles and responsibilities when you’re playing, you’re not a good team-mate, never mind a captain.
"One thing the manager says is to put the team first, that’s what we always do. Nothing really changes for me."

How do you approach these last games psychologically?
"Just try and win the next game, really. Try not to think too far ahead. Nine games in quite quick succession for the league. We’ll just focus on the next game."
What would it mean to you to stay up?
"It would be an incredible achievement but it’s just about putting the energy into the next game."
You’ve been in relegation battles before. Can you bring anything from them into his one?
"Every one is different. The most important thing is the next game."
Is there a different feeling from those relegation battles, such as the ones at Wigan, compared to this one?
"Well, at Wigan we were deducted 12 points. We haven’t been deducted 12 points yet, so yeah, it’s different."

"He’s a really good player, a good athlete. I could see he was going to do well."
As a captain, what do you do to keep everyone positive despite the current form?
"It’s just part of the role. If you’re not like that, you haven’t got a chance. If you are like that, you might have half a chance. If you’re not, you’ve got no chance."
Is it different not being a regular in the starting lineup?
"That’s the challenge. It’s a challenge in any team, especially a Premier League team. Of course, whatever the question is, the answer is the same. It’s hard work, working on things you need to work on and coming back better."
Did the international break come at a good time?
"In some aspects, it’s a positive, it’s back to doing what you’ve been doing. There was a time in the season where we were really, really competitive. We won a couple of games and we weren’t far away. Every game was tight one – drawing, winning, slight losses.
"We need to get back to that, which we can do. We’re refreshed, we’ve taken stock and we’ll come back stronger."

"It’s always a challenge. You can’t be happy being out of the team, but you have to be a good team-mate, you have to be supportive, you have to have a good energy. You have to work harder, and with this manager, you’re not going to get back into the team without working harder.
"Culturally, he wouldn’t accept that. You’ve got to work hard to stay in the team and to get back in the team."
Impressed by Bournemouth’s attackers?
"They are really good, really dangerous. They have lots of goals in them. As a club, they have recruited really well, unearthed some really good players and took risks on a couple of them. It’s paying off."
A big game for you against Wolves (on Saturday) ?
"I’ve always enjoyed that fixture. I was speaking to a friend – I beat them with Barnsley, Wigan and now Ipswich. I’ve beaten them a couple of times, which has been nice.
"We’ll try to beat them again, which would be really nice."
Friends and family who support Wolves?

"It’s going to be a great game. It was an amazing game at their place and it’s a game we have to win."
How was Ramadan?
"Amazing. With the fixtures, I played in the Forest game (FA Cup). In the other games, I didn’t play. But it was an amazing month. I’ve had a couple of niggles for a while, which I think have cleared up. I think Ramadan has a big thing in clearing that up.
"It’s been an amazing month. I can’t wait to get going again."
How did Ramadan help clear up your injuries?
"When you don’t eat or drink throughout the day, there’s something on a different cellular level where your body can recover and repair. Especially with me not playing the games, my body has had a good chance to repair and reset itself."
