Hugo Larsson, the 20-year-old Swedish star of Eintracht Frankfurt, is on the radar of Europe’s leading clubs. Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham continue their interest in the young midfielder and the transfer race is expected to heat up in the summer.
We know Spurs were in the mix, as it was reported by Florian Plettenberg reported that we were one of three Premier League clubs monitoring his position quite recently.
Frankfurt are expecting to receive an offer for Larsson, who is attracting attention with his performance in the Bundesliga, in the summer transfer window. Sources close to the club state that they are open to offers of 60-70 million euros for the young talent.
Manchester City has already started negotiations for the player’s transfer. First contacts have been made with Larsson, who is said to be favourable to the idea of transferring to the Etihad.
While the club is expected to receive serious offers for the midfielder in the summer, the transfer is estimated to cost at least 60/70 million euros. Clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are also keeping a close eye on the young Swede’s development.

Our view
At this moment in time, another expensive youth in our midfield is unlikely to be an obvious solution for Tottenham, who already have an increasingly urgent need to find the right home for Archie Gray, who, whilst having been superb, has been continuously played out of position!
At the levels of transfer fee being discussed for Larsson, this makes little sense for us to get involved at this stage, and perhaps more effort should be made focussing on who our coach will be next season.
