Samsung is trying to figure out why Google Sports Now Bar is broken in One UI 7 beta

Samsung's One UI 7 beta program is not yet over, and last week, Galaxy S24 users running the latest One UI 7 beta firmware came across a new issue. They brought a critical Google Sports Now Bar bug to light.

As it turns out, the bug is more widespread and also affects Galaxy Z Fold 6 (and possibly Flip 6) One UI 7 beta testers. Samsung is unsure of the cause but is now searching for the root of the problem.

The Now Bar is a clever new feature in One UI 7. It's a dynamic UI element that appears on the AOD and lock screen and delivers quick controls and information at a glance, depending on what apps and services are running in the background.

The problem for some One UI 7 beta testers is that the Google Sports integration with the Now Bar on the lock screen is partially broken. Google Sports is one of the more unique aspects of the Now Bar, as it allows One UI 7 users to see live scores for sports events at a glance.

Affected One UI 7 beta users have reported that the Now Bar fails to display Google Sports information on the lock screen. This week, the Beta Moderator on the official Samsung Community forums in the USA confirmed that Samsung is trying to figure out why this happens but has yet to find the answer. For now, Samsung is investigating at least two possible causes.

Not an issue for the stable One UI 7 firmware

According to the moderator, Samsung is investigating whether the issue crops up due to “compatibility between the Google app and Now Bar or a limitation in how live data is currently surfaced in the beta build.”

Thankfully, this bug doesn't appear to affect the live One UI 7 build for devices like the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy A 2025 series. The issue is limited to the latest One UI 7 beta firmware. The recent Community post also confirms the problem occurs not only on the Galaxy S24 but also on the latest foldable(s) running beta 3.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 received the third One UI 7 beta firmware a week ago.
