West Ham United flop Luis Guilherme is seen as a direct replacement for Igor Paixao if he leaves Feyenoord this summer.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who say the Brazilian youngster is seen as a ‘one to one’ replacement for Paixao.
They explain that there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the current Feyenoord team as there could be several departures this summer.
Paixao is one of those who could leave as he’s been impressing this season, and the Dutch club have two options on their list Rômulo and West Ham’s Luis Guilherme.
They want reinforcements upfront regardless of what happens in the summer, but Guilherme is particularly seen as a direct replacement for Paixao. The Dutch side tried to sign him from West Ham in the January transfer window and ‘remain interested’ in him.
Any deal would be dependent on the Hammers, who are yet to decide what to do with the 19-year-old after a disappointing first season in England following a €23m move in the summer.
They’d likely want to recover as much of that fee as possible, which could be a problem given Feyenoord’s record arrival remains David Hancko at €8.3m.
He’s on the list either way, with their interest not going away and him seen as a direct replacement for Paixao if he does depart.
