Mohamed Salah has been the Saudi Pro League’s main transfer target for the past two summers.
Liverpool rejected a £150m offer in 2023 for Salah with the winger now heading into this off-season as a free-agent, with the Reds yet to announce a deal for the Egyptian international with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid for nothing.
With Salah believed to be interested in joining FC Barcelona, Saudi Pro League clubs are far from the only teams keen on signing the Liverpool winger if the 32-year-old does indeed leave this summer, a prospect that is becoming more likely with each passing day.
And Saudi Pro League sources now have a new stance on what they think Salah is considering heading into the summer.

Mohamed Salah ‘remains interested’ in the Saudi Pro League
According to the Telegraph, Salah ‘remains interested’ in the Saudi Pro League, though the winger has prioritised Liverpool’s contract offer with remaining at Anfield still the most likely outcome for the former AS Roma star.
As per the report, Al-Hilal are the leading Saudi club for Salah’s signature, who this summer will compete at the FIFA Club World Cup against the likes of tournament favourites Real Madrid, Mexican giants Pachuca and underdogs RB Salzburg.
However, Salah signing a new deal with Liverpool remains more likely this summer than the winger quitting for a move to Saudi Arabia, a country where the Egyptian international would become a poster boy for the league.

Indeed, Salah heading to Saudi Arabia feels like an inevitability in the coming years, but after the year the winger has had with Liverpool, remaining on Merseyside for another two or three years seems to be the most likely outcome from this contract saga.
Saudi Pro League update should wake Liverpool up
The Saudi Pro League have always felt like the biggest threat for Liverpool when it comes to keeping Salah, with the Middle Eastern division quickly growing into one of the most alluring leagues in all of football for top players.
And after this latest update, Liverpool would be wise to wake up and to do all they can to ensure that Salah’s new contract is agreed upon as soon as possible, especially when things appear to be going on track.
The odds of losing Salah this for free are not high, but with Saudi Arabia’s interest beginning to spike, Liverpool need to get to work and to tie the 32-year-old down to a new lucrative deal before the season ends.
