Liverpool’s plans for the summer transfer window are starting to take shape.
The Merseyside club are set to back Arne Slot this summer in order to remain at the top of the Premier League next season after the Dutch coach only saw Federico Chiesa added to his Liverpool squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Liverpool look set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, while the amount of money they can spend this summer will also be determined by the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
With Darwin Nunez ready to leave Liverpool this summer, a striker is high on the Reds’ list of priorities and the Merseyside club have once again been informed on the price of one of their top targets, Joao Pedro.
In addition to this, Brighton have also slapped a hefty asking price on Carlos Baleba as the Reds also keep an eye out for potential midfield additions.

Brighton name price for duo admired by Liverpool
Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, there is expected to be a lot of interest in Brighton duo Joao Pedro and Carlos Baleba and according to talkSPORT, the Seagulls will demand £100m to part ways with either player.
Rousing the Kop exclusively revealed back in December that £100m was indeed the fee Brighton would demand for Pedro as the Brazilian talent has been key for the Seagulls this season, producing eight goals and seven assists across 26 games.
Alexander Isak remains Liverpool’s top target for the striker role in Slot’s team; however, with the Reds unwilling to go as high as £150m for the Swedish star, it remains to be seen what new number nine they recruit this summer.

Liverpool have also been linked to Baleba in recent months as the Merseyside club keep an eye on the midfielders market for any potential deal after missing out on Martin Zubimendi last summer.
RTK understands that this area of the pitch is not a main priority for Liverpool this summer, as Rousing The Kop‘s transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey provides an update to clear up the Merseyside club’s interest in the Brighton duo.
Liverpool’s stance on Brighton duo Carlos Baleba and Joao Pedro
Speaking exclusively to RTK, Bailey has provided the latest on Liverpool’s interest in Baleba and Pedro ahead of the summer transfer window.
“Brighton know what they have in Joao Pedro and Carlos Baleba – nobody in England has a better track record of buying low and selling high,” Bailey said. “When Brighton say they want £100million, they should be believed.
“Liverpool know all about Pedro and Baleba, they appreciate them both. If Liverpool want a number six then Baleba is very high on that list.

“But I am not sure summer moves for Pedro or Baleba are at the forefront of their thinking. Alexander Isak is their first-choice striker target, whilst in midfield they do love how Gravenberch has played and also Curtis Jones’s progress.
“There is room for improvement, of course, but whether midfield is a priority – it doesn’t seem to be at this point, but they do keep check on the best options and Baleba is seen as one of those. They liked Baleba even before he moved to Brighton.”
