Potter Hoping For Arsenal Repeat As He Issues Verdict On Struggling West Ham Star’s Performances

**West Ham head coach Graham Potter has backed Mohammed Kudus to improve on the displays he has put in for the Hammers this season.**

The Ghanaian’s second year at the London Stadium has not exactly gone to plan but Potter claims he has seen enough from the forward (specifically during the 1-0 win over Arsenal in February) to suggest he can turn his fortunes around:

“You can have a little spell where it doesn’t quite happen for you in front of goal, or that final pass just doesn’t quite get there.”

“But it doesn’t take much to turn that around because how he contributed against Arsenal, for example, in our win there, even though he didn’t score or assist, he was a top, top player in that game and massively helped us.”

“So the numbers do say something – but there are also other aspects of his performance that have been really, really good.”

Kudus’s numbers don’t make for good reading

As Potter mentions, the 24-year-old’s stats have been very poor. In 27 appearances this campaign, he has only found the back of the net 3 times, having laid on just 2 assists.

It is not the level you would expect from a player who attracted admiring glances from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal last season.

West Ham has been tipped for a move to the Middle East

While it is unlikely that any Premier League team would be tempted to trigger [**Kudus**](https://hammersheadlines.com/west-ham-transfer-news-mohammed-kudus-paintsil/)‘s £85m release clause, which will become active again at the end of the season, there are suggestions that a Saudi Pro League club may table an offer.

It is believed that Al-Nassr could make a bid for the Ghanaian international. If the proposal comes anywhere near the current buyout fee, you would think that the Irons would snap their hand off.
