Report: Ineos plan to smash Man United transfer record as they plot £100m-plus summer overhaul

Manchester United fans can expect plenty of action over the summer transfer window.

It is no secret that Manchester United are struggling with PSR. Sir Jim Ratcliffe claims United were going bust in 2025 before Ineos implemented their cost-cutting measures.

On top of that, United have already spent £89m on transfers this summer through owed instalments. The budget available will be restricted as a result.

Ineos’ response is that players will have to leave. Ruben Amorim warned United players that many will have to leave in the summer, and those sales are expected to fund incomings.

Ineos plan to smash Man United player sales record

During their first window as owners, Ineos raised £82m in transfer sales in the summer with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay all bringing in significant fees.

ALVARO FERNANDEZ: £5 million

DONNY VAN DE BEEK: £500,000

WILLY KAMBWALA: £4.6 million

MASON GREENWOOD: £23 million

AARON WAN-BISSAKA: £15 million

FACUNDO PELLISTRI: £5 million

MAXI OYEDELE: £500,000

WILL FISH: £1 million

HANNIBAL MEJBRI: £5.4 million

SCOTT MCTOMINAY: £25.7 million

Heading into the 2025 summer window, it seems Ineos want to raise even more from outgoings.

According to iNews, United are aiming to break the £100million figure in player sales this summer so that they can overhaul Amorim’s squad with new signings.

As pointed out by Football365, United have never raised more than £100million through player sales in a single window before, so if it happens this summer it will be a new club record.

More United News

United have historically struggled with player sales compared to most of their ‘Big Six’ rivals. Cristiano Ronaldo’s £80m move to Real Madrid still stands as United’s most expensive transfer sale of all time.

However, Ineos have not been afraid to put price tags on any player.

How Ineos plan to raise £100m in Man United sales

There are two major sales that Ineos will want to get over the line in the summer. Marcus Rashford has a £40m buy option in his Aston Villa loan deal – given he has impressed at his new club, it seems likely they will want to keep him permanently.

Similarly, United value Antony at £40m and the Brazilian has been in incredible form since joining Real Betis on loan.

Atletico Madrid are also interested in Antony, so Ineos will be growing in confidence that the 25-year-old winger will be sold this summer.

If both Rashford and Antony are sold, that already takes sales up to £80m. On top of that, United are set to earn £25m from Jadon Sancho once his permanent move to Chelsea is completed.

Ineos are open to selling Kobbie Mainoo if his contract talks continue to stall. The United academy star is valued at £70m, so that is another major sale that could be completed.

Then there are some smaller deals that could be considered. Andre Onana has been linked to Saudi Arabia and while Casemiro wants to stay at United, he could be shown the exit too.
