The Merseyside Derby is always a fiery affair so David Moyes won’t be too keen on who is in charge of such an occassion.
Moyes is hoping for the unlikely circumstance of grabbing a result away at Anfield, as Liverpool away isn’t exactly a fixture anyone looks forward to.
With the Toffees nine games unbeaten, you’d suspect going off of form, Everton are actually the favourites, but Chris Sutton has backed a Liverpool win.
It has a lot to live up to going off the first game as James Tarkowski’s late equaliser left the Red side of Merseyside in head loss.
Well, Moyes might be the one in head loss, having seen who will be refereeing the affair and what he’s already done to cost Everton.

‘Big error’ Merseyside Derby referee Sam Barrott made that cost Everton
An occasion like this will prove Moyes needs a full-strength squad, but Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil are unlikely to return.
This will leave the Toffees having the tough challenge of scoring at Anfield, let alone their poor goal-scoring record in front of goal recently as it seems Beto’s form has dipped.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Arne Slot will be wary of Beto’s threat, but Moyes might have his eyes on the referee, having already cost them this season.
On the Scotsman’s first game back he certainly didn’t miss refereeing decisions, as their was a major error that handed Moyes his one and only loss in the league against Aston Villa.
Sam Barrott will officiate the encounter on Wednesday night, but former Everton player Amadou Onana should’ve been sent off after fouling Orel Mangala whilst on a yellow.
The big error that occurred could’ve changed the prospect of the game, and with this considered, Moyes might not be too hopeful ahead of the ferocity of the derby.

Moyes will have to avoid Slot antics in Liverpool vs Everton
With Moyes obviously fuming with this call, Slot can relate to the Scotsman’s concerns after the first derby this season.
There will be plenty of controversial calls, as Slot was furious with referee Michael Oliver.
This ultimately lead to the Dutchman being sent off at the end of the game, and Moyes will be hoping to avoid the same fate with Barrott.
We haven’t seen the wrath of Moyes on the sidelines just yet, but if Barrott makes another error like the Onana decision he’ll be going the right way for a serious staredown from the Everton boss.
